The History of TNA

Title Histories

TNA initially signed a licensing agreement with Pro Wrestling Organization, LLC (the parent company of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA)) for TNA to use the trademarks, logos and intellectual property of the NWA for their shows and thus used the NWA World Heavyweight and World Tag Team Titles from 2002 until mid-2007 when both parties came to a mutal agreement with the NWA to end their buisness relationship and introduced the TNA World and Tag Titles. Until that time the X Division title was the only TNA exclusive title featured by the promotion. Starting in 2007, the TNA Knockouts division was started and a new title was introduced to the promotion. In 2008, Booker T declared himself the TNA Legends champion introducing the TNA Legends Championship to the promotion. TNA added the Knockouts Tag Team Titles at the 2009 edition of Bound for Glory crowning Taylor Wilde and Sarita as the first ever Knockouts Tag Champions.
